What We Do

Trail Design

Living in a unique space between landscape architect and landscape professional, Speedgoat Trail Co uses its Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Design to prepare shovel-ready construction documents for new trail designs, existing trail maintenance plans, or bike and pedestrian parks. Years of hands-on, professional trail construction allows us to 'talk the talk' and prepare designs that make sense to professional trail builders, volunteers, and other architectural professionals all at once.

Our extensive AutoCAD and GIS experience makes both blueprints and maps a breeze, and a passion for graphic design, photography, and illustration allows us to prepare presentation-ready designs for you and your ideas. Need help formulating those ideas? We love designing trails — crawling through the woods to figure out the best alignment gets us out of bed in the morning. What We Do

Build Trail

Although we believe and support trail fairies and the work that they do when no one is looking, we also understand that sometimes you just need a professional to come in and get a project done. That is exactly what we at Speedgoat Trail Co have been doing since 2019, having worked in 7+ different US states for a variety of clients, in various terrains, and in all of the kinds of weather.

We understand that the East is not the West, the mountains are not the prairies, and there is a time and place for hand and machine building. We haven't seen it all, but we've seen a lot and are always excited about the challenges that construction brings. Whether it is 50 feet or 50 miles, we would love to chat with you about building and how we can help.

What We Do

Maintain Trail

Everything in life requires maintenance to function properly. Roads, buildings, cars, relationships, and trails all need work from time to time. Speedgoat Trail Co has learned plenty over the years from fixing mistakes or failures on existing trails, and although we don't have a crystal ball, we are sometimes able to predict the future and address issues before it's too late.

Using our architectural design education, we are able to create formal, professional maintenance plans for trails and trail systems for someone else to address, or to show you exactly what we are going to do before we fix the trails ourselves. We understand that sometimes new trails are not the best option or an option at all — we would love to help you figure out what your trails may need or what could be done to make them the best trails possible.

What We Do

Educate

With over a decade of volunteer trail building experience and many years of training new professional trail builders, Speedgoat Trail Co understands that it is difficult to train and explain trail building and trail maintenance correctly and effectively. We can create and instruct a custom training curriculum for you and your needs.

We recommend a combination of both classroom and 'in the field' learning environments to help participants better understand the ins and outs of the trail building and maintaining process. Whether it is the very basics for new volunteers, employees, and school groups or fine tuning the skills of seasoned volunteers, we would love to put together and instruct a trail training for you and your trail needs.
